South Sea Sadie
Don McDiarmid
(as recorded by Owana Salazar on "Hula Jazz")
On a tropical isle far across the sea
There in tropical style, 'neath the mango tree,
Lives a little brown gal who is everybody's pal
Life to her is just a breeze
With a tropical flower in her long brown hair
She's the girl of the hour on that island fair
She wears her sarong and nott long
She's the siren of the southern seas
They call her Sadie, that little south seas lady
They say that Sadie is the reason
For the heavy tourist season
In the isles so many miles across the sea.
The boys rise early, to see that streamlined girlie
They say she's the principal attraction
When that girl goes into action
Reservations for vacations reach capacity
So if you're ever down in Hula Town
And you run across that certain little lady
With big brown eyes that tantalize
You can bet your bottom coconut that little girl is no one but…
Sadie, that little south seas lady
The kanes take to drinking kava
When she rolls her lavalava
In the isles so many miles across the sea
Sadie, that little south seas lady
They say that Sadie is the reason
For the heavy tourist season
In the isles so many miles across the sea
