An old recording of this song captivated me and so I asked my brother Stephen La`anui Salazar to accompany me with his classic style of piano for this recording. The Ka`ahea family tells that One Rose was composed by, Henry Kekela Ka`ahea for is wife, Enid Harbottle. Henry Kekela would tell his ohana, “We were young and we were Hawaiian and music came naturally to us. There was always a song in our heart.”
